Free Online College Classes - How I Get My Online College Classes For Free

At first the whole idea of finding a college that will offer their classes to you online for free is kinda silly isn't it? Let's face it, we live in a world where you have to pay for almost everything, it's just the way it works. When I began the process of finding an online college that I could attend, I certainly wanted to find the cheapest one I could since I was planning to have to pay for it out of my own pocket. That didn't make me very happy but what choice did I have? I did have a full time job and my kids to support but I believed that in the long run the sacrifice would be well worth it once I got my degree and could actually get a decent paying job. I was getting sick and tired of never being able to make more than $12 per hour. Now, depending on where you live, that may be a good wage or not, I don't know. But for me it was just barely enough to survive. So I made my mind up to get a degree which would qualify me for a better job and one day have a better life. So I started looking for online colleges that I could attend that wouldn't completely wipe out what little savings I had. Then something amazing happened. There are some great sites online that have all kinds of information about the different distance learning colleges and so forth. I found one that also was talking about financial aid for online colleges. What was this? I hadn't really thought about that before. Free money is always someone else got but not me. Anyway, to make long story short, I signed up for a package of information about free financial aid programs, scholarship, grants and what not. I was floored to realize that I did qualify for a Federal Pell Grant. I couldn't believe it...all the worrying I had been doing about how I was going to pay for college was suddenly over. Now, I did have to fill out a bunch of applications but the info guide I got online helped me with all of that. In addition, they matched me up with online colleges that offered the programs I was interested in that also offered...scholarships. Once again, I had never even considered getting a scholarship before. I learned that there are schools that offer scholarships for students attending online and many of these scholarships are pretty easy to get...nothing like having to have a 4.0 GPA or anything like that. So, back to the issue of finding free online college classes. In one sense of the word I don't think they exist, but there's always a loop hole in the system somewhere right? I think you'd be amazed at the amount of financial aid, scholarship and grant programs that are available for people going back to school. This is especially true if you are a woman or a minority looking for a scholarship. In then end I'd have to say that Yes, there are free online college classes, you just have to know how to use the system. Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/3912632
